An interesting article on the movie Avatar in…of all places…the NY Times. Bottom line is, this movie pushes the religion of choice among Hollywood and the elite of our culture. That religion is pantheism…which is the worship of nature. It is what is behind the green movements and so many other things we see in our culture today. It is worship of the creation rather than the Creator. I don’t know this writer’s beliefs, but he certainly seems to be on target with where Hollywood is coming from most of the time. Basically it is paganism. Read the article HERE and give me your thoughts.

I saw Avatar, and to be honest, it wasn’t really about any sort of hidden religious message, but it certainly was soaked in allegory for, you know, ‘Stop harming the earth’ and ‘The human race is deplorable for hurting the environment’ and I saw basically sort of a cover-story of the ‘white man taking the land from the Native Americans’ sort of tale. As for religious Pantheism story-telling, I wouldn’t say that was at all present.

As for the movie itself, though, it was awful, hahaha. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone – boring, and plot-less. 😛
