Sunday Recap 12-20-09

Yesterday was another great day @ The Ridge!

  • God blessed and we saw 3 people baptized! Love stories of life-change. Never gets old to hear of God’s amazing grace in someone’s life.
  • Had at least two people indicate they were making salvation decisions yesterday! That’s why we do what we do.
  • The band was amazing once again! Can’t say enough about them! We are blessed.
  • We gave The Gift offering yesterday as well (we had given on the 13th too). It was so encouraging to see how many people gave over and above their regular tithes! God blessed. We will be committing a significant portion of this gift to missions and community outreach and to family ministry and to freeing up cash by ridding ourselves of some debt. You can still give to The Gift online (simply put The Gift in the memo line) or by bank draft or by mail to CATR P.O. Box 1228, Hiram, GA 30141
  • We’ll share the total of The Gift soon.
  • We talked about the Spirit of Christmas Future yesterday. The spirit of the future is one of living expectantly. Our focus doesn’t just need to be on the Advent (arrival) of the Messiah, but on His 2nd Advent…His return which is yet to come…and could come anytime!
  • The Wise men approached the Messiah with a great amount of expectancy…and were not disappointed. Matthew 2:1-12
  • Simeon looked with expectancy and was not disappointed. Luke 2:25-32
  • If we are looking for and expecting anything from Christmas other than Jesus, we will be disappointed.
  • If I am living expectantly…I’ll be living in preparation…I have hope and peace…I will want to finish the job. (Matthew 24:14)
  • Once I come to a place of understanding and trusting in the truth as God reveals it to me, I begin to look with greater expectation to Christ’s return.
  • I am excited about Christmas Eve @ The Ridge this Thursday at 5:30pm. Don’t miss it! Bring your friends, family and neighbors with you. I am amazed at how many people say they can’t come to Christmas Eve service because they have family in town. Bring them! What a great opportunity to share your faith and the hope of Jesus with the ones you love most! They’ll come, I promise. Take that step and bring folks to Christmas Eve @ The Ridge. I promise you will not be disappointed. It might just make a difference in their life forever!
