Sunday Recap 2-22-09

Yesterday was a good day @ The Ridge, but a crazy day for me. Here’s the highlights:

  • Attendance was way down again. I’m glad winter break is over!
  • Josh Bayne and band came and led worship. They did their usual great job! Perfect song set too.  Thanks to Josh for coming and giving our guys a break.
  • Continued our Beginnings series. We looked at another foundational principle for our faith found in Genesis: God is with you…His presence is real…He initiates a personal, intimate relationship with us. We looked at a snapshot of Jacob and the pivotal moment in his life in Genesis 28
  • Two people indicated they were trusting Christ as their Savior for the first time and dozens made renewed commitments to Christ!
  • I had to take off immediately after our gatherings to go to LaGrange, GA for a funeral visitation with a family whose wife/mom had died of cancer. I had been her kids’ youth pastor years ago. This family has been an inspiration to many as she battled with cancer for a long time.
  • After visiting there, turned around and came straight back home to a special leadership meeting we had last night.
  • Big announcements are coming! We had a leadership meeting last night that kicked it off. Everyone will hear more on March 8th!
  • Crazy day for me. Looking forward to hangin and chillin at the Churchplanters.com Conference today and tomorrow. My wife gets to go with me today! Thanks to a dear friend for helping out with our kids  so she could go.
