Sunday Recap 1-11-09

Great day @ The Ridge today! Here’s the highlights

  • Part two of our Habakkuk series today looked at Habakkuk 2 and “What Do You Do In The Dip?” What do you do when God doesn’t seem to be answering you and what you see around you doesn’t make sense? You do what Habakkuk did in verses 1-3: LISTEN to what God says, WRITE it down, WAIT on Him and His timing.
  • We looked at the key in verse 4 where God says “…the righteous shall live by faith” How are we to live when things don’t seem fair? By faith! The righteous…those who belong to God, shall live by faith…because God is still on His throne no matter what.
  • Good attendance today too: 419.  Lots of new people and at least 4 salvation decisions indicated! Along with several rededication decisions plus dozens who asked for prayer.
  • Taught the students tonight in their small group again. Over 25 middle and high schoolers. Good group. I really enjoy hanging out with students. Can’t always do it, but I’ve enjoyed it with this series.
  • Finishing up Habakkuk next week and getting ready for a new series starting in two weeks: Beginnings. We’ll be looking at Genesis and the foundations for our faith that are found there. If you want to understand the New Testament and what our faith is built upon, you have to understand Genesis.
  • Busy week ahead. Fixin to go to bed as soon as my wife and I watch the season kickoff of “24” (we recorded it and are watching it after the kids go to bed!)
