My Cinderellas

I have been struck by the death of Steve Curtis Chapman’s little girl last week. As I was driving down the road the other day, I heard his song Cinderella in a new light.  I came across this video tribute today:

Striking and ironic that the last line says, “the clock will strike midnight and she’ll be gone.” If you have Cinderellas or young princes in your home, hug them, dance with them, wrestle with them, play hide & seek with them, take them on a date…whatever. They do grow up too fast as the song suggests, but we are also not guaranteed of tomorrow either. God has only loaned them to us for a season, to prepare them for His purposes, not ours. I have been reminded of this many times over in ministry as I have walked with many families through those dark days. Please pray for the Chapman family.

Here are my six Cinderellas and two young princes. God has blessed us more than we deserve. I pray that we will be faithful to God for the time we have each of them and that they will impact another generation for His Kingdom.

Wow Steve you are right. They are only loaned to us for a season! Thanks for sharing. I got to meet SCC last January on a Music Boat Cruise and I told him about meeting him YEARS ago when he recognized you and Kim as his former classmates in the audience at ROCK EAGLE on that Jr. High Trip back before CD’s!!!
