• We had a great day at The Ridge Sunday. We continued our series Return To Mayberry as we looked at “Integrity”. It was a bit of a challenging message looking at 1 John 1:5-10 . In the episode we used to illustrate, Opie says to his Pa, “You mean kids are supposed to be honest, but the grown-ups don’t have to be?” Good question for us all when we think about what we are modeling for our kids.
• We had 368 today and I know of at least 19 regulars who were out today!
• God is using this series. We had at least 3 first timers that came because they heard about this Mayberry series!
• For the third week in a row, we ran out of CDs from our last series called Warriors. Wow! You hope you are hitting people’s address with a series, but you never know how God uses one and will continue to do so.
• Offering was up today. That’s good, since things are tight. (Not just for us, I might add. Most churches are running pretty tight too.)
• Had a great prayer meeting with our Advisory Team Saturday morning. God is moving and fixing to do some amazing things!
• We introduced The Gift offering today, which will be received on December 16. More details to come…
• FSU Seminoles knocked off Boston College last night. Go ‘Noles! What is it about being ranked #2 this season in college football? If you get ranked #2, you know you are going to lose soon.
• Tennessee is still in the driver’s seat in the SEC East!
• I was bummed that the Colts lost this afternoon. Pretty good game, though, between 2 unbeatens. Too bad they can’t play again in the Super Bowl. No one in the NFC can hang with either of these teams.
• 5 folks attended our membership class today, 2 adults ant 3 teenagers. Have 2-3 more families who will join them to complete the 201 class next week. This will put our membership over 170.
• It is supposed to get pretty cold this week and maybe rain the first of next week. I hope so! Let’s keep praying for rain!
• I have several projects in the basement to finish. I have been trying to finish the basement for 3 years and am not done. Yesterday, my wife suggested another remodel/finishing job to the back storage room in the basement. I’m not even done with the first part yet!
• Our Women @ The Ridge ministry had a great mini-conference/retreat this weekend. Thanks to the great team of ladies who made that happen!
• My truck is leaking some serious oil. Oh well, I guess that means it is self-changing.
• Our Staff is going on a prayer & planning get-away the 14th-16th. I’m looking forward to getting to plan and pray with these guys.
• We are about to see God do some amazing things at The Ridge and in our community! There are some big announcements coming! I can’t wait to share them with you all.
• Christmas Eve @ The Ridge is going to be SWEET! You will definitely want to bring someone to be a part of it! Stay tuned for details. For now…”just imagine!”
